Fingal Home Care CLG is a social enterprise (not-for-profit Company) providing home support to HSE service users to enable them to live independently at home within their own communities and close to family and friends.
We have been providing services to the elderly and disabled across the Fingal area for over forty years, assisting them with:
- Personal care (tasks include but are not limited to bathing, transferring, toileting, washing, dressing and feeding).
- Practical light household care (tasks include but are not limited to making meals and light cleaning).
- Household tasks
- Shopping
- Companionship
We have vacancies for Health Care Assistants / Home Care Assistants in Balbriggan, North County Dublin, Skerries, Rush, Lusk, Donabate, Portrane, Malahide, Portmarnock and Swords Area.
Reporting to the Area Care Supervisor, successful applicants will:
- Attend to service users primarily in their own home.
- Carry out a range of care tasks for service users as indicated on the care plan and as described by your Care Supervisor. These tasks include personal care, light household care, and social care as follows:
- Personal care tasks include (but are not limited to) bathing, transferring, toileting, washing, dressing and feeding.
- Practical light household care tasks include (but are not limited to) making meals, tidying and hovering.
- Social care tasks include (but are not limited to) conversation, friendship, support and letter writing.
- To ensure that all medication is given in an accurate, prompt and supervised fashion in accordance with company procedures.
- To provide relief cover work for a colleague as required.
- To be aware of the changing needs of a service user and to report these to your Care Supervisor.
- To maintain written records of visits as required by the company, including completion of daily diary
- To attend and participate in individual, team and company training and meetings as required.
- To participate in formal and informal individual, team and group supervision as required.
- To observe/comply with all aspects of the company's health and safety policies and
procedures. To ensure that all safety equipment provided (e.g. hoists, slings, etc) are used for the purpose intended and in a safe manner, and to report immediately any health and safety risks in the service user's home to your Care Supervisor.
- To ensure that services are delivered by working within a flexible team rota. In other words, employees in this position are required to be flexible regarding the duties they undertake and must be prepared to undertake such duties as assigned to them by the company from time to time. Employees in this position are required to be flexible as regards what service user they attend to and where within the catchment area.

Week 1: Work Monday, Work Tuesday, Off Wednesday, Off Thursday, Work Friday, Work Saturday, Work Sunday.
Week 2: Off Monday, Off Tuesday, Work Wednesday, Work Thursday, Off Friday, Off Saturday, Off Sunday.
Part Time & Full Time Contract available. Hours will be allocated within the above working pattern.

Garda Vetting and Police Clearance
Fingal Homecare CLG will carry out Garda Vetting Clearance on all new employees where their role is engaged in relevant work (e.g. access to, or contact with, children or vulnerable adults). New employees engaging in relevant work will not take up duty until the Garda Vetting Clearance process has been completed and Fingal Homecare is satisfied that such an appointment does not pose a risk to clients, service users and employees.
As part of the Garda Vetting process an applicant must disclose any and all convictions. This disclosure must include such offences as driving offences, non-payment of a TV licence and public order offences, and includes the application of probation or community service. This covers offences in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Applicants who have resided overseas for a period of 6 months or more:
If you lived in any country for 6 months or more from the date of your 16th birthday other than the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland it will be mandatory to provide security clearance for each jurisdiction in which you have resided stating that you have no convictions recorded against you while residing there. All appointments will require satisfactory security clearances. Please note if you require overseas security clearance and are unable to produce it at the time of job offer then the job offer may be withdrawn.
Your security clearance must be dated AFTER you left that country and cover the entire period of your residence. Seeking security clearances from other countries (e.g. UK, USA etc) are the responsibility of the candidate. It is a process which can take an amount of time.
Note: Candidates who studied outside of the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland e.g. in the UK (excluding Northern Ireland), please pay particular attention to this. You will require UK clearance to cover the entire period you were in the UK. Clearance must be dated after you left the UK.

Please note that valid Security/Overseas Clearance from the USA must be obtained from the
FBI only.
FBI Clearance is valid for all of the United States and convictions / remarks occurring anywhere in the United States would be noted. Individual US State Clearance (e.g. New York State Clearance) is not acceptable as it is valid for that State alone and convictions / remarks occurring in other States may or may not be noted.

Please do not send us your overseas clearance or any other documentation unless we request it from you. Candidates who accept a job offer will have specified timeline within which to produce the required documentation; otherwise the job offer will be withdrawn. These timelines are communicated to you at proceed to pre-employment clearances stage - typically this is 5 working days.
When requested, a copy of your overseas Clearance will be retained on file and the original returned to you by post.
