Role:
Global Banking is the global business line within CIB responsible for the management and development of the corporate client franchise together with delivering best in class products via three global platforms (Global Capital Markets, Global Capital Markets and Global Sectors & Advisory). Corporate Coverage sitting within the Corporate Clients Group is entrusted with the Corporate Client franchise.
In Ireland, Global Banking has two primary pillars Corporate Client Group (CCG) and Global Transaction Banking.
This role sits within the Corporate Clients Group (CCG), which is responsible for managing the relationship worldwide between BNP Paribas and its corporate clients, facilitating access to the Bank’s complete and integrated product offering across the UK platform and worldwide.
The Multinational Coverage (MNC) business is part of Coverage within the CCG and is responsible for managing local and regional subsidiaries of the banks Corporate Client base.
Supporting our clients globally and across the BNP Paribas network is a strategic priority for Global Banking and the MNC Coverage teams are a critical enabler of this growth ambition.
The Multinational Coverage Analyst will be accountable for providing support to more senior team members on routine marketing, executing, and regulation activities in relation to transactions within Multinational Coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports intermediate and senior team members within the Multinational Coverage team as instructed in relation to routine marketing, executing, and regulation activities including the preparation of presentations, pitches and financial analysis.
- Applies basic knowledge of standardised rules, procedures, and operations within relevant area within Multinational Coverage to all tasks, and is accountable for assisting to ensure that all marketing and execution materials and processes meet high standards of quality and reliability.
- Interacts with internal parties in both marketing and execution under supervision to drive effective delivery of all tasks.
- Performs background industry and company research in relation to KYC processes, consolidating information from diverse sources and analysing screening hits. Tracks developments on matters related to Multinational Coverage to stay up-to-date with latest market practice.
- Assists senior team members with annual reviews, call reports, CRM+ input, commenting on credit papers and implementing credit products.
- Works under own initiative, but with readily available supervision and guidance, to prioritise their workload as required to support the team and achieve their personal development and growth objectives within agreed timescales.
- Collaborates with team members and offers creative solutions to problems. Develops skills in communicating concepts and interacting with others.
- Builds internal working relationships with Global Banking colleagues and more senior team members to increase knowledge of the Global Banking function and its role in supporting and delivering to clients.
Qualifications & Experience required for this role:
- Professional qualification required with technical and broad understanding at an entry level of the area of Global Banking relevant to the role, including basic knowledge of financial analysis. Previous relevant internship / work experience desirable.
- Typically requires a university degree with an excellent academic record as an indicator of an ability to understand and apply complex theoretical concepts, although may have progressed into the role via equivalent business experience.
- An analytical mindset and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- A developing knowledge of BNPP, the industry, and its products / services, with a demonstrable capacity and willingness to develop market awareness autonomously and to learn and improve performance.
- An understanding of main KYC regulations and requirements.
- A strong personal focus on accuracy and attention to detail and able to prioritise workload based on shifting business needs.
- Good written and oral language skills.
- Skilled in the use of a range of standard computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office, email), as well as capacity to learn the use of investment banking related applications.
