This individual will play a pivotal role in designing solar systems, supporting sales teams with design plans, and managing technical support for existing customers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in solar PV systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to upholding safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Planning:
- Create solar system designs using industry-standard software such as PVsyst, PVSOL, AutoCAD, etc.
- Develop and provide electrical schematics, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and detailed cable layouts (DC & AC).
- Plan cable routes and design for optimal system performance and compliance.
- Prepare documentation for SEAI grants and DNO grid connection as required.
Technical Support:
- Assist sales teams with system designs, technical insights, feasibility studies, and costings.
- Provide after-sales support, including troubleshooting, system performance monitoring, and maintenance guidance.
- Handle technical support calls and resolve customer inquiries professionally and promptly.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols during all phases of the project.
- Stay updated on Irish solar regulations, industry standards, and technological advancements.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Create and maintain accurate and detailed documentation, including site survey reports, technical specifications, and system performance evaluations.
- Provide detailed feasibility reports outlining projected energy production, cost estimates, and ROI.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering with solar PV projects.
- Proficiency in solar PV design software (e.g., PVsyst, PV*SOL, AutoCAD, etc.).
- Strong understanding of photovoltaic (PV) technology, inverters, battery storage, and related components.
- Familiarity with SEAI grants, G10 regulations, and DNO grid connection processes.
- Knowledge of Irish solar regulations and industry standards.
- Experience with technical support and troubleshooting of solar systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Valid full driving license.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
