Role Overview:
The Head of Finance will serve as a key member of the leadership team, supporting the CFO in managing the financial health and strategic direction of EM3. This role involves leading financial operations, ensuring compliance, optimising resource allocation and contributing to long-term business growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong financial acumen, a strategic mindset, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Management:
- Collaborate with the CFO to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s vision and objectives.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business growth initiatives.
Financial Operations and Compliance:
- Oversee financial operations, including accounting, treasury, and payroll functions.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and corporate governance standards.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate reporting.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Analyse financial performance and prepare detailed reports for the CFO and senior leadership.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive initiatives to enhance financial efficiency and profitability.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team and across the organisation.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO and other senior leaders, contributing to cross-functional initiatives.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring business continuity and resilience.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess and manage financial implications of key projects and initiatives.
Sustainability and Innovation:
- Champion sustainable financial practices and integrate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) considerations into financial strategies.
- Drive innovation in financial processes and adopt emerging technologies to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education and Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) required; MBA is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of post-qualification progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within consultancy, energy, Engineering or technology sectors.
- Proven track record of strategic financial management and operational excellence.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with different stakeholders
- Leadership capabilities, including team management, mentorship, and collaboration.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, BI tools).
