Are you a recent software developer or systems graduate. At General Motors, our Mainframe Ecosystem team is recruiting for positions across Software Development and Platform Engineering. These teams support ongoing Mainframe Transformation programs providing horizontal shared services which drive modern software and systems practices. You will be working with on cutting-edge technology in a global organization that drives innovation. You will play a pivotal role in modernizing our global technology platform while gaining hands-on experience with real-world projects.
Our applications reside on a modern Parallel Sysplex which supports ongoing modernization tools, practices, and products. Future AI potential and projects are in scope of our team’s transformation opportunities.
You will work in a highly collaborative and increasingly Agile environment and will assume a key role in modernizing the GM Mainframe ecosystem. This role will suit someone with solid software development and/or systems engineering skills, who is a strong team player with a positive, confident attitude and an eagerness to learn new skills/practices.
Hybrid: This position will be located onsite a minimum of three days per week in our Limerick office and 2 days from home.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Software & Systems Engineer at GM, you’ll:
- Collaborate with teams worldwide, communicating effectively with a positive, can-do attitude.

- Break down projects into manageable tasks, estimate timelines, and deliver incremental improvements.
