TheRole
Reporting to the Test Manager, the Software Test Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of the organisation’s products. You’ll be involved in all phases of testing within an agile team, designing and executing tests, documenting results, and ensuring any issues are identified and resolved.
While the role will initially focus on manual testing, there’s plenty of scope to grow into automation testing as you progress. If you’re a motivated problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic environment, this is your chance to shine.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate in Sprint planning and Example Mapping sessions, reviewing use cases to develop effective testing solutions.
- Work closely with the Senior Test Engineer to develop test plans, cases, and strategies.
- Perform a variety of testing types, including Functional, Non-Functional, Integration, Exploratory, API, Performance, and Regression testing.
- Ensure software meets system requirements by designing robust test coverage.
- Identify, analyse, and document test results, reporting defects and verifying fixes.
- Assist in onboarding and mentoring new testers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the testing team.
- Configure and maintain test environments to support testing activities.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in End-to-End testing, including Exploratory, UAT, and Regression testing.
- Strong familiarity with Test Case Management and Defect Tracking tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and a passion for learning new technologies.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Permanent residency in Ireland is required.
Desirable:
- ISTQB or equivalent certification in Software Testing.
- Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Familiarity with CSV/CSA environments.
- Knowledge of Non-Functional and API testing.
