Your new company
Hays are exclusively representing a long-established and well known wholesale group on this Group Financial Controller role heading up a division with 5 companies, focused on supply chain. This group is experiencing rapid growth through acquisitions, which has led to this newly created Group Financial Controller role. This role is fully office based in Dublin West, but it will require some travel between different office locations in Ireland, approximately 3 days per month.

Your new role
Your new role has been created to closely support the Managing Director in providing valuable insights into company performance and contributing to growth for your division. You will lead the finance function, with a preexisting team of 6 people across the division. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Lead the finance team, overseeing preparation of monthly and year-end company accounts, ensuring accuracy across all 5 divisional companies
- Provide monthly variance analysis & operational KPI reporting
- Lead the annual budget preparing and cashflow forecasting for the division
- Support the Division's MD in developing KPI reporting, enhancing systems and processes and providing value-added commercial advice
- Support the Group Finance Director in reporting as required
- Oversee and manage the annual audit process with the group auditors
- Work with the senior management team to create and roll out strategic plans for your division
- Ensure full statutory and regulatory compliance across areas such as VAT, import duties etc.
- Assist in group projects across the wider group as required
What you'll need to succeed
- You must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) with overall 7-8 years of experience
- You will be an ambitious candidate who is very keen to grow long-term with the company, they are on a growth path and want someone who can progress with them
- You should have experience in the following industries (wholesale, distribution, supply chain and logistics, manufacturing, retail, a large varied Irish group)
- You should have experience with overseeing monthly accounts, deep-diving into variances to provide insights to senior management
- You need to have experience with budgeting and forecasting
- You must be a strong people leader who cares about their team's development, with proven people management experience
- You must be OK with working full-time in the office in Dublin west
- You must have a valid driving licence to travel to different company locations across Ireland (within 1–2 hours' drive) - about 10% of the time.
What you'll get in return
You will be rewarded with a salary of between €70,000 - €90,000 depending on experience and benefits will include a 5% pension contribution, 5% discretionary bonus, healthcare contribution, 22 days annual leave, flexible working hours, an EAP programme and a company laptop and phone.
