Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Analyst is integral to the cost management and financial control of the Ireland Retail Business.
Supporting the creation of insights and decision making, financial planning, reporting responsibilities as well as month end and governance duties. The position plays a pivotal role partnering the business and will be a key support to the Finance Manager as well as the wider finance team.
All about the role
- Ensure accurate accounting of costs through effective management of month end process, ongoing cost analysis and robust controls.
- Provide insights into driver of costs/cost efficiencies; define and communicate where action is required to manage performance.
- Regular engagement with business partners and senior leadership team to review and collectively manage costs to ensure delivery of budget. Providing guidance and direction to business stakeholders. Hold business partners to account on cost management and provide decision support
- Weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reporting, working with third party accounts process team (Genpact) to manage journaling process.
- Working with central finance functions to support resolution of supplier queries and account management.
- Support the 3-year plan and budget process to establish functional targets, identify risks and opportunities
- Provides support and stewardship for several adhoc projects that are instrumental to the wider finance function, including the implementation of a new SAP system
- Challenge and change the ways things are done
- Supporting finance for non-finance to enable teams to take ownership of more administrative tasks
What you will need to have
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA part qualified with prior analyst experience.
- Highly analytical and technically competent.
- Will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to all stakeholders.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with finance partners.
- Have an ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accuracy whilst working at pace.
- Be proactive in approach with the ability to identify issues and drive actions through to conclusion.
- Have strong data manipulation and software skills including use of Excel.
