Role:
The Middle Office team are responsible for the delivery of various post execution services related to a clients portfolio and trading activity. This role reports to the manager of the EMEA Middle Office team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring clients trade settlement activity, working to resolve failing trades through interaction with brokers and clients
- Management of Standard Settlement Instructions (SSIs) to support the settlement monitoring process
- Ensuring the capture of a clients trades in the Middle Office platform, managing exceptions and interacting with the relevant internal teams to resolve
- Perform affirmation and trade matching of a clients trades against the trading counterparty
- Managing the exceptions from the trade matching process while engaging with counterpartys and clients to resolve exceptions
- Effective communications to clients during the day on outstanding trade matching and settlement exceptions
- Transmitting trades to respective Prime Brokers and Custodians to facilitate settlement
- Effectively engage with the team in the IOC on daily activities including review of work produced offshore, predominately the review of reconciliations (Cash and Position), validating comments applied and assisting with investigation of aged breaks
- Participate in the onboarding of clients to the Middle Office platform
- Lead projects that are identified that contribute to the evolution of the business
- Manage the creation of procedures where applicable, documenting the risks and controls
- Contribute to client satisfaction by ensuring that the highest level service is delivered accurately at the relevant deadlines, against standardized benchmarks and in compliance with global procedures.
Qualifications & Experience required for this role:
- Third level qualification with relevant professional qualification desirable
- 5-7 years’ experience in alternative fund services industry
- Proficiency in use of Advent Geneva and Broadridge Paladyne (POMA) advantageous
- Strong product knowledge eg Equity, Fixed Income, CDS, IRS, Futures, Options, OTC Options etc
- Experience in managing trade settlement exceptions or comparable work is preferable
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work independently
- Attention to detail and organisational skills
