Location/Division Specific Information
The Materials and Structural Analysis (MSD) Electron Microscopy business enables customers to find meaningful answers to questions that accelerate breakthrough discoveries, increase efficiency, and ultimately change the world. The M&SA EM business designs, manufactures, and supports the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflows that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales.
Combining hardware and software expertise in electron, ion, and light microscopy with deep application knowledge in the materials science, life sciences, electronics, and natural resources markets, the worldwide Electron Microscopy employees are dedicated to customers' pursuit of discovery and resolution to global challenges.
As an FSE Engineer II, you will:
- Perform on-site scheduled planned maintenance visits
- Conduct on-site installation of sophisticated equipment and follow testing procedures to ensure proper working order
- Provide flawless, top-tier service and support to our clients
- Successfully implement and maintain advanced scientific instruments and systems
- Fix and solve technical issues with proven problem-solving skills
- Collaborate with a diverse team to deliver exceptional results
- Strictly adhere to safety and compliance standards
- Conduct training sessions for clients to ensure optimal use of our products
- Prepare detailed service reports and documentation
- Travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnel
- Complete and submit field service reports
To compete for this role, you must have:
- A degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in a technical or engineering capacity
- Exceptional abilities in fixing and solving problems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills; must have a professional working proficiency in English
- Proven ability to solve sophisticated systems and subsystems down to component level
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to read and interpret schematics
- Familiar with UHV phenomenon and technology
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as required
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 18 kg/40 lbs.
