What You'll Do:

As the Manager, Software Engineering you will lead the full lifecycle of development from concept to post-production support and maintenance of server/OS/desktop/web/mobile applications and services. You will lead a team of developers, architects and quality analysts to create measurable value and deliver software to market using industry recognized agile methodologies and best practices. The Manager, Software Engineering will be responsible for measuring and reporting various software-development-centric KPIs such as velocity, capacity, cost of delay, bug rates, etc. You will contribute to development efforts as needed to meet deadlines and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide people leadership including hiring, professional development, personnel issues, etc. for one or more software development teams

Provide technical leadership for one or more development teams

Lead both small and large, cross-functional initiatives in a matrix managed structure

Maintain balance of business and technical acumen in decision making

Manage and report on team productivity and quality metrics

Who You Are:

Passionate about software development best practices and enthusiastic about helping purpose driven organizations

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

6+ years of experience in professional software development, or related fields

2+ years of technology personnel management

Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development and implementation of software solutions

Knowledgeable of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies

Capable of leading research into application development issues to successful completion

Capable in meeting deadlines and focuses on results and value creation

Capable in professionally resolving team issues/conflicts
Experience with the following:

- Microsoft Azure Cloud environments
- C#, T-SQL, .Net 8, ASP.Net framework, .NET Web API with JWT and OpenIddict (OAuth), Blazor, Web Forms, JavaScript (jQuery and React), HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap
- Relational Databases (SQL Server/Azure SQL preferred)
- Web Services REST and WebHook APIs
- Custom frameworks
- Data Warehousing

Working knowledge of toolsets such as:

- Build Tools: Azure DevOPs Pipelines, GitHub
- Source Control: Git

Work Request Systems: Azure DevOps, Jira

SDLC Methodologies | Agile, SCRUM, use of architectural patterns/frameworks

Ability to coach and mentor technical leaders and developers

Strong leadership, listening, interpersonal and organizational skills

Ability to verify and define requirements for projects and request

Ability to properly assess and articulate risk

Physical Considerations:

Ability to work in a general office environment

Ability to handle extended periods of computer-based work, including telephone

Ability to work flexible and long hours, as needed, including outside regular business hours and days

Travel Considerations:

Domestic and/or international travel required, estimated up to 5%
