We are a family owned Pharmacy Group currently seeking to recruit a Pharmacy Technician or experienced Dispenser at our Glanmire store. As pharmacy technician / Dispenser, you will undertake a variety of activities in the pharmacy under the supervision of a pharmacist.
This role is best suited to a positive, ambitious and focused person who is interested in learning and helping people with a wide variety of potential health concerns.
Responsibilities
· Assisting the pharmacist by accurately receiving, recording and assembling prescriptions
and issuing the appropriate receipts.
· Providing advice to customers about medicines and OTC products in a professional and
empathetic manner, referring to the pharmacist where appropriate.
· Maintaining records and ensuring documents pertaining to various schemes are kept up
to date and in line with pharmacy procedures.
· Maintaining stock control including; anticipating shortages and communicating to the
team, placing orders with wholesalers and verifying receipts, stock rotation and removing
outdated medicines.
· Ensuring any errors or safety issues are brought to the attention of the Supervising
Pharmacist.
· Maintaining consistent professional standards at all times as directed by the Supervising
Pharmacist and in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
· Assisting the pharmacy team in all areas of the pharmacy operation including OTC sales
and other front of counter duties.
· Maintaining a good relationship with the pharmacy team, customers and other healthcare
professionals
· Participating in training and development programmes as required.
Requirements
· IPU Pharmacy Technician course or equivalent completed or a number of years in a Dispensary
· Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Good interpersonal and effective communication skills.
· Ability to build relationships within a team.
· Ability to prioritise and multi-task.
· A positive and professional attitude with an appreciation of the importance of delivering
excellent customer service and the ability to use discretion when addressing confidential
information.
· Comfortable using computerised equipment and a knowledge of MPS Dispensing system
