The Cork facility is one of several Snap-on global engineering sites and employs over 80 development professionals. Now, we are looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team!
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will work as part of a team that is responsible for new product development and sustaining engineering of Internet enabled hand-held automotive diagnostics products.
Responsibilities include quality assurance, design and maintain test plans, maintain test lab and equipment, collaborating with team members, and developing automated tests.
This position requires an excellent team player with great communication skills who demonstrates a passion for delivering software with uncompromising quality to customers. The candidate will frequently be required to work on a cross-functional level in partnership with other Snap-on Diagnostics’ Software Development sites across the globe.
Responsibilities:
· Contribute as a member in an Agile software development team
· Ensure software meets quality standards prior to its release
· Provide feedback on software usability and functionality
· Collaborate with team members in designing test strategies and test plans
· Document defects in bug tracking system with good details and steps to reproduce
· Document test procedures and testing results
· Build and maintain a test lab and associated equipment
· Design and develop test automation scripts
Qualifications:
· 3 to 5 years of Software Quality Assurance experience in an embedded/mobile environment
· Experience with test-plan/test-case creation, execution and reporting
· Solid understanding of Quality Assurance best practices and industry standards
· Attention to detail, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
· Experience using test case management tool(s)
· Experience using defect management system(s)
· Experienced in Agile/KANBAN practices
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Experience in scripting languages, for example Python
· Experience creating and developing automated tests
Education:
· Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience
· Preferred certifications in Software Quality testing
Desirable Attributes:
· Organization skills
· Experience with Visual Studio, Embedded Development Environments, Test Management Repositories
· Experience with Jenkins CI, BitBucket, and scripting languages
· Experience with Android Test Automation tools
· Knowledge of Internet and Bluetooth protocols
