Job Overview:
As a Quality / Process Improvement Engineer at GDWM Guardian Doors, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our products and processes maintaining. You will play a key role in identifying areas for improvement, implementing process enhancements, and driving continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems to ensure products meet the required standards including ISO9001 and Fire Door certification.
- Process Analysis: Analyse current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement projects using methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, and Kaizen.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis of defects and non-conformances. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Training: Train staff on quality standards, procedures, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of quality control processes, improvement projects, and results.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the production, engineering, and design teams to implement quality and process improvements.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance and process improvement, preferably in the manufacturing or joinery industry.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies and process improvement techniques.
- Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to train and mentor staff.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Certification in Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
