Job Description:
AMK Ireland (formally DriveRite Ltd) is part of the German AMK Group, who are renowned for delivering state-of-the-art automotive air suspension systems. With over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, our design engineers continue to play a major role in developing new and innovative air-suspension systems for OEM and aftermarket applications.
The Engineering Intern will support the Operations Department in implementing key organizational changes across production, quality, maintenance, safety, and warehouse management. This position will play a pivotal role in executing documentation, supporting process automation, and facilitating the rollout of Lean Manufacturing principles such as Six Sigma, 5S, and Kaizen. The role will also be involved in implementing new technology platforms for task management and visualization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Time & Methods: - Work Instructions (WIs): Lead the creation and implementation of the Work Instructions for production and warehouse activities. Track the times, define material movement routes, and optimize personnel movements. Picking routes and assembly routes.
- Lean Production, Planning & Visualization:- Help develop a production planning tool that visualizes real- time data, such as production times per task, machine capacity, and maintenance schedules along with layout design of the facilities and assisting in designing real time design of visualization boards using tools like Power BI.
- Lean Manufacturing:- Implementing Six Sigma process improvements along with Safety Documentation, Preventive Maintenance Schedules, Kaizen Events, and 5S System
- Digitization & IT:- Lead the company's digital transition by implementing QR codes to streamline processes, ensuring effective use of Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Power Automate…), and integrating relevant apps to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Job Qualifications (Required)
- College graduate in Engineering such as Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering Design, Industrial Technologies Engineering, Management Engineering and Master in Industrial Engineering
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Leadership skills to conduct workshops and drive continuous improvement
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Proficient with MS Work, Excel and PowerPoint.
