Overview
Dillon Engineering Services is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technical Lead on behalf of our client, a global consultancy providing sustainable, cutting-edge solutions across sectors like Built Environment, Data Centres, and ICT. This role involves overseeing mechanical projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet quality standards, and are delivered on time and within budget. This is a hybrid role based at offices in Cork or Dublin, Ireland.
The ideal candidate must hold a valid visa/citizenship for Ireland/Europe.
Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee all mechanical engineering aspects of projects, including planning, coordination, and execution.
- Team Leadership: Manage multidisciplinary teams, ensuring efficient achievement of each project milestone.
- Client Interaction: Liaise with clients to understand project requirements, offering expert guidance and updates throughout the lifecycle.
- Budget Management: Control project budgets, track costs to avoid overruns, and ensure financial targets are met.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all work complies with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
- Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on support for mechanical engineering tasks, using your in-depth knowledge to solve complex technical issues.
- Compliance: Ensure projects meet regulatory standards, particularly in the pharma and data sectors.
Required Experience and Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in mechanical engineering project management, preferably in the data or pharmaceutical sectors.
- Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience in mechanical systems, with the ability to contribute technically when needed.
- Project Management: Proven track record of managing mechanical projects from start to finish, including budget control, risk management, and quality assurance.
- Leadership: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Client Focused: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with compliance and safety standards relevant to the data and pharmaceutical industries.
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field; PMP certification is a plus.
