Dillon Engineering Services is looking for an experienced Piping Steel Design and Coordination Lead to join our client's dynamic team.
The ideal candidate needs to have a valid visa/citizenship to work in Ireland/Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the on-site representative for all piping work associated with the project.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the project scope, rationale, and technology to engage effectively in project execution.
- Respond promptly to all contractor RFIs (Requests for Information) and submittals as they arise.
- Provide weekly guidance to the Piping Contractor and Construction Management (CM) team to resolve potential RFI hold points and ensure contractor progress.
- Liaise with and seek support from the site and remote teams to implement design changes and revisions arising from site-approved changes or instructions.
- Attend relevant site meetings organized by the CM, client, or partner Architectural and Engineering (AE) teams.
- Actively engage with all other parties on-site within the defined project scope to ensure project success.
- Conduct regular site walks, ensuring safety is observed, to monitor progress, quality, and safety, and report findings to the site team.
- Serve as the point of contact for any proposed piping design changes during the construction phase, assessing their impact on the overall project and coordinating with the design team to implement necessary changes
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in piping design and construction within large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, design standards, and industry regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, both on-site and remotely.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing project challenges.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Experience responding to RFIs and managing design changes in a fast-paced construction environment.
This position requires a proactive and collaborative approach, ensuring smooth coordination between various project teams and a commitment to upholding project timelines and quality standards.
