Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical/HVAC Discipline Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee the mechanical and HVAC aspects of assigned projects, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency. The role involves leading the design, specification, and implementation of HVAC and mechanical systems for various industrial production facilities, including the Pharmaceutical and Semiconductor sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Development:
- Lead the conceptual and detailed design of Mechanical and HVAC systems for industrial production facilities.
- Develop A&ID’s/P&ID’s for HVAC and utilities systems through all design stages: Conceptual, Preliminary, and Detailed Engineering.
- Specify Air Handling Units, mechanical plant, and piping requirements.
- Conduct energy audits and energy efficiency reviews for existing and proposed installations.
- Develop Building Management Systems, including the creation of operational sequences throughout all design stages.
- Design fire protection systems for comprehensive coverage on client sites.
- Project & Team Management:
- Ensure timely completion of all HVAC and Mechanical deliverables, specifications, drawings, and technical requisitions while adhering to quality and safety standards.
- Lead and support the career development of the HVAC and Mechanical engineering team.
- Interface with clients, vendors, project management, and other disciplines to ensure top-notch service delivery.
- Assist the Business Development department in preparing and presenting proposals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Primary degree in Building Services, Energy, or Mechanical Engineering (Level 8). Chartered status or progress towards chartered status is required.
- Experience: Proven experience in leading HVAC and utilities systems design, specifically within the Pharmaceutical and/or Semiconductor industries. Experience should include:
- Design of HVAC systems for cleanrooms.
- Specification of Air Handling Units (AHUs) and other specialist air handling equipment.
- Design of chilled water and glycol systems, steam systems, hot water systems, cooling water systems, and compressed air systems.
- Specification of mechanical plant such as chillers, boilers, cooling towers, compressors, and pumps.
- Conducting risk assessments, safety reviews, and constructability reviews.
- Preparation of tender and construction packages.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in HVAC and mechanical systems design and specification.
- Ability to perform detailed energy audits and efficiency reviews.
- Expertise in fire protection system design and Building Management Systems.
