This role supports the Aviation Noise Operations Manager and the wider noise team through daily management of aircraft noise complaints and detailed analysis of noise and flight tracking adherence. The role oversees data management within the noise and flight track management system (ANOMS), supporting data integrity, compliance reporting, data presentation (internal and external) and supporting module components for Airlines flight track performance enhancement. Other tasks include promoting continuous improvement in flight performance, in particular, noise and track keeping, identifying any areas of poor performance and communicating these to the relevant operators, applying sanctions for non-adherence where required.
- Investigate aircraft noise complaints and reply to the complainant in a timely manner.
- Support stakeholders by providing aircraft noise and complaint information.
- Maintain the noise complaint database, conduct in-depth analysis, and identify trends.
- Maintain and monitor flight tracks (noise preferential routes) and profiles using the Noise and Flight Track Monitoring System (NFTMS-ANOMS).
- Actively manage flight track deviations and non-adherence.
- Coordinate and maintain data relating to noise and aircraft track keeping, including but not limited to continuous descent/climb operations (CDO/CCO) and other noise mitigation measures.
- Support liaison with airline operators and air navigation service provider (ANSP) on noise and flight track matters.
- Take the lead in compiling Monthly and Quarterly reports.
- Assist in the generation of flight track maps and noise and track analysis.
- Oversee the investigating process relating to noise monitors and its data.
- Ensure that the NFTMS and local database are updated and operational to provide optimum information in partnership with ANOMS Service Provider and other team members.
- Provide business support to assist Operations in compliance with Dublin Airport Noise Regulation Act 2019 and other relevant regulations.
- Actively work to identify operational noise continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide business support to assist in compliance with airline customers, ANSP and regulator on aircraft noise issues.
- Support continued compliance with ICAO Balanced Approach to Noise.
- Heightening the awareness of the noise abatement procedures & legislation among airlines, ATC, the daa and other airport users.
- Support the management of noise monitoring programme with stakeholders.
Knowledge & Education
- 3rd level qualification in Engineering, Science, Environmental Science, Aviation Operations Management etc.
- A broad technical understanding of the airport operations and aviation noise activities would be advantageous.
- 5+ years overall experience in an aviation operation role, or with demonstratable experience working on specialist systems.
Experience and Skills
- Experience in airport operations, environmental science or similar is preferable.
- Experience of stakeholder needs which includes the local community.
- Good working knowledge of complex datasets and interpreting data and results.
- Ability to analyse, evaluate and prioritise situations.
- Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail including scheduling, planning and time management.
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Practical, logical aptitude for work scheduling.
- Strong IT and MS Office skills, including Excel.
- Driven, with the ability to work independently and take a flexible approach to work.
- Possess a strong understanding of GDPR regulations and ensure compliance in all data handling and processing activities.
- Experience in using any data analytics/data management tools such as Power BI or similar graphics packages an advantage.
