About the Role
As an IT Senior Systems Engineer, you will provide third-line support and assist in delivering IT solutions for a variety of clients. Collaborating with the Service Desk and project teams, you’ll resolve complex issues and support the implementation of network, infrastructure, and cloud projects. This role is perfect for a skilled problem-solver passionate about technology and client success.
Key Responsibilities
- Third-Line Support: Act as the escalation point for the Service Desk, resolving advanced issues in servers, networking, and cloud environments, including on-site visits for escalations and proactive work.
- Managed Services Implementation: Complete infrastructure setups and upgrades for clients under managed services contracts, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal downtime.
- Project Assistance: Support hardware, software, and network deployments, including server, firewall, and cloud configurations.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of implementations, network configurations, and client systems, while providing end-user guides and updates.
- Professional Development: Stay current with emerging technologies, undertake certifications, and share knowledge with the team to improve service delivery.
Key RequirementsTechnical Knowledge
- Basic understanding of networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) and Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy).
- Familiarity with cloud services (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS) and virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware).
- Experience with hardware (routers, firewalls, switches, workstations).
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Certifications & Experience
- Desirable: IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA N+, MD-102, etc.), MSP experience, and project management tool familiarity. A valid driver’s license is essential.
