Job Purpose/Summary:
To respond to machine breakdowns and liaise with operating personnel to resolve/repair run issues in a busy print manufacturing environment
To maintain a range of automated machinery including regular maintenance of machinery and the use of fault-finding methods to establish cause of breakdowns or machine failures and repair/replace appropriate parts as necessary.
Job Responsibilities/Key accountabilities:
- Investigations of faults and diagnostics - To fault find problems with machines (both electrical and mechanical) using a systematic approach to problems and problem-solving techniques
- Improve and perform maintenance procedures used on all machines on site.
- Log and record duties performed
- Analyse trends in reoccurring faults and breakdowns
- General Housekeeping of stores and engineering areas
- Stocktaking
- Ordering spare parts and components
- Basic electrical repairs
- Participation in improvement projects
- Develop and maintain a professional customer relationship with operators of the machines and work together to improve the flow of communication regarding faults and work in partnership to increase the performance of all machines.
- Work to the expected safety standard.
Qualifications
- Relevant mechanical qualifications desired but not essential
- A third level qualification essential
- Relevant Electrical qualification essential
Knowledge, skills experience
- 5 years experience in automated machinery ideally in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Good level of computer literacy,
- Methodical and ability to priorities workload
