Aviva Ireland General Insurance are looking for a talented and experienced individual to join the Aviva Ireland Data Warehouse team on a 24 month fixed term contract and support the project team for one the company’s key strategic initiatives. You must have experience as a Data Engineer working in the Insurance and/or Finance industry to be suitable for this role.
A bit about the role:
You’ll be performing a Data Engineer role within a large project team, delivering multiple initiatives from ideation to deployment. The project is focussed on digitising general insurance products on to a new policy administration system.
The delivery of change will involve working closely with data analysts, business stakeholders to understand personal and commercial lines product and change request deliverables. The ability to liaise with the different stakeholders to fully understand business requirements is an important skill for the successful candidate to have.
This role is based in our Dublin office and adheres to Aviva's hybrid working policy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with key team members and business users to define requirements, analyse data, design solutions, program, test, implement, and train end-users and fellow IT team members.
- Analysis, Design and Implementation of Oracle based solutions.
- Support of run team for technical upgrade projects including analysis, planning, design and implementation.
- Continuous improvement of technical and business user support processes.
- Provide thought leadership on data and system architecture, system administration, schedule management, performance tuning, and expansion.
Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrable technical thought leadership and influencing skills.
- Able to work in a projects-based, team environment. Must be a team player.
- Proficient in multi-tasking (across run and change) and managing multiple tasks, able to meet target completion dates.
- A strong decision-making and prioritisation skillset, with ability to operate effectively under pressure in dealing with multiple customers and timelines.
- Demonstrate personal ownership/responsibility for work with thorough follow through to conclusion.
- In addition to the above, experience working on data migration projects will be advantageous (but not mandatory).
