We are seeking a Technician - Service Engineer to join our team to provide service and maintenance for biomass boiler systems across Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of biomass heating systems, addressing technical issues, and performing routine servicing and repairs. This role requires a strong technical background, hands-on experience with biomass systems, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service & Maintenance: Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of biomass boiler systems, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and system issues in biomass boilers, providing effective solutions to restore system functionality.
- Installation Support: Assist with the installation and commissioning of biomass boilers and associated systems when required.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients to provide advice, ensure satisfaction, and address any concerns or issues during service visits.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate service records, including details of repairs, servicing, and inspections.
- Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the relevant standards and regulations, particularly SEAI guidelines and health and safety protocols.
- Parts Management: Identify parts and components that need to be replaced, and order and manage necessary inventory for servicing.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports to the Service Manager, highlighting any recurring issues, client feedback, or suggestions for system improvements.
- Travel: Regular travel to client sites across the Northern half of Ireland.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: At least 2 years’ experience working with biomass boiler systems, heating systems, or similar renewable energy technologies.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of boiler operations, including combustion, control systems, and electrical systems.
- Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot a variety of mechanical and electrical issues in a timely manner.
- Customer Service: Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
- Health & Safety Awareness: In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, including safe working practices in the renewable energy sector.
- Driving License: Full, clean driving license required for travel to client sites.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with renewable energy technologies (e.g., Biomass, heat pumps, solar thermal).
- Familiarity with SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) guidelines and industry standards.
- Certification in relevant training courses (e.g., gas certification, electrical qualifications).
