At Meta Reality labs, we are developing the future of Wearables and Augmented Reality (AR) products. As a product engineer, you will participate in the development of wafer based micro-displays as the light engine for AR systems. You will provide lot reporting and data analysis based on electro-optic measurements on LEDs and LED based micro-displays. You will participate in a series of development cycles and assist in qualifying displays and process recipes for high volume manufacture. This role combines data interpretation with electro-optic characterisation.
- Provide batch reporting and data analysis based on electro-optic measurements on LEDs and LED based micro-displays.
- Communication of lot results to device and integration engineers to determine optimum process recipes.
- Track performance and yield of wafer based micro-displays providing statistical analysis of product test data & yields highlighting key gaps to stakeholders.
- Participate in product / device reliability data analysis.
- Provide failure Pareto and participate in failure analysis.
- Electro-optic characterisation of III-V LEDs and micro-displays.
- Contribute to new technology introduction and new product development programs.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Materials Science or similar.
- 2+ years experience in the microelectronics industry (semiconductors, active matrix displays, sensor arrays or LED development) as a product engineer or related role.
- Data management skills including coding capability (using JMP, .py, R or similar)
- Data visualisation skills to summarise results for cross-functional team members.
- Device characterization capability (ideally LED and/or displays)
- Experience with new technology introduction and new product development stage gate methodologies.
- Participation in performance and yield management programs in a semiconductor or electronics manufacturing environment.
- Experience with failure analysis and reliability of electronic components.
- Team player
- PhD in a relevant area.
- Experience in one of the following industries: semiconductors (particularly compound semiconductors), active matrix displays or sensor array.
- Product engineering experience delivering electro-optic components such as LEDs, lasers, photodiodes and sensors, and ideally experience with micro-displays or sensor arrays.
Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses. When Facebook launched in 2004, it changed the way people connect. Apps like Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp further empowered billions around the world. Now, Meta is moving beyond 2D screens toward immersive experiences like augmented and virtual reality to help build the next evolution in social technology. People who choose to build their careers by building with us at Meta help shape a future that will take us beyond what digital connection makes possible today—beyond the constraints of screens, the limits of distance, and even the rules of physics.
