Scope of Role:
Introduce and implement material coordination in adherence with Group Procedures. Train, mentor and monitor Project personnel within the Group on Procedures of Material Co-ordination.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Provides critical interface between construction and procurement related to material Management on Project.
- Identifies problems with materials at the warehouse and construction site and flags back to requisitioning group.
- Leads a team of warehouse / stores / yard personnel and ensures the proper receipt, handling, storage and issuance of all equipment, instrumentation, and materials for the construction project.
- Ensure correct procedures for Material receiving at Site are always adhered to.
- To ensure correct storage techniques are used for storing materials including any required preservation.
- To ensure that the stores are kept in an orderly and proper manner.
- To ensure that an efficient delivery service is provided to the project from the warehouse and all documentation is recorded.
- Ensure proper and accurate usage of the company computer system for managing the warehouse.
- Ensure full commitment to the implementation of the procedures.
- Generate material reports as required and check for accuracy.
- Ensure stock reconciliation and traceability of materials issued from the warehouse by following the material issue procedure.
- Where used ensure that minimum stock levels are properly accounted for and utilised.
- Ensure excess / unwanted materials returned from site are adequately recorded and accounted for.
- Liaise with relevant person on site regarding any delivery discrepancies and any other matters to be resolved.
- Liaise with the Group Material Manager and coordinate the removal and disposal of excess / scrap materials.
- Maintain standards of HSE and comply with Company’s Health, Safety & Environment procedure/policy.
- Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirements.
- Tracks and checks work. Accountable for accuracy and timeliness of work produced by team.
- Assigns, monitors and reviews work for accuracy and progress.
- Trains team members to improve skill, productivity, safety, quality, and processes.
- Has responsibility for or gives significant input for recruitment, retention, discipline, and performance management.

Essential Criteria
- Directly related progressive experience with successful track record of ensuring that cost effective, quality goods and equipment are delivered on-time to meet business requirements.
- In-depth Knowledge of materials received in DC or Semi-conductor sectors.
- This Position requires international travel to Projects within the area of operation and may require a period of 7 to 10 days on startup project.
- Travel to abroad will be regular for progressive improvements and monitoring and mentoring of Project personnel.
Desirable Criteria
- 3-5 years’ experience in Warehouse/material management.
- Understands critical path importance of having material availability and escalating appropriately when risk identified.
- Ability to anticipate and proactively resolve issues using internal and external resources.
- Ability to discuss site requirements and schedule.
- Ability to independently consolidate and analyse information from various sources to develop complex Material Control Plans.
- Proficiency in thinking creatively, problem identification, resolution, and implementation.
- Ability to participate in establishing if required an off project staging area for intermediate deliveries.
