The Package Manager is an exciting leadership role where you’ll take charge of a key work package for an offshore wind project during the EPCI phase. You’ll be responsible for specific assets within the wind farm, ensuring everything runs smoothly and successfully while making a meaningful impact on the project’s overall delivery.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be accountable for the successful execution of an offshore wind project work package in integration with the project’s other work packages to achieve overall project success.
- Lead the delivery of the project’s critical milestones in line with budget, schedule and quality objectives.
- Manage the work package team, ensuring it has the means to deliver the scope of work through activities such as workforce planning, land negotiation and consent management.
- Work cross functionally with other BU departments and project teams, including engineering, finance, legal and procurement to secure the necessary resources required to execute the work package.
- Accountable for compliance with relevant HSE legislation.
- Manage relationship with internal and external stakeholders, including engagement with them around their capability to fulfil their deliverables and availability of effective escalation route.
- Manage the delivery of commercial and contractual negotiations to agreement for the elements of the work package delivered by the supply chain or stakeholders.
- Evaluate and manage work package related risks and interfaces; ensure implementation of a Risk Management Plan and Interface Management Plan.
- Control and review of work package costs against budget.
- Member of the Project’s issue escalation team, who operate to ensure issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner for the project.
- Proactively manage suppliers to ensure their delivery to the project’s defined quality requirements.
- Report work package performance against established KPIs to the project leadership team.
- Key accountabilities for the grid and land package manager include:
- Defining the Project’s Land Strategy and ensuring it is successfully executed.
- Managing and engaging with key stakeholders of Eirgrid and CRU to ensure the Project satisfies their requirements.
- Participation in industry working groups to strengthen the industry, and representation of the project at internal and external events.
What do you need to be great at this role?
You’ll hold a degree or equivalent experience in engineering, construction, property, or a business-related discipline, providing a solid foundation for success in this role.
- Strong project management skills, backed by a relevant qualification such as Prince 2, demonstrating your ability to deliver complex projects effectively.
- Over 10 years of experience working on major infrastructure projects, giving you the expertise needed to tackle large-scale challenges.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the offshore wind industry, ensuring you’re familiar with its unique demands and opportunities.
- A proven track record in managing contracts within similar projects, showcasing your ability to handle key agreements and partnerships with confidence.
