We are currently recruiting for a Lift Engineer to join the team in Dublin, Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the installation of new units, applying the methods established by Schindler ensuring the achievement of contractual and performance efficiency targets and adherence to all company safety and quality procedures.This is a permanent and full time role.
Duties & Responsibilites:
- Measuring & Setting Out lift/escalator Installations in accordance with approved procedures.
- Complying with Statutory Regulations and organisational safety. Preparation of work area for installation activities. Handing over and confirming completion of installation activities
- Install Lift Well and Ancillary Equipment in accordance with approved procedures by selecting appropriate tools and equipment based on the operations to be performed and the equipment to be installed
- Install Traction Equipment in accordance with approved procedures by selecting appropriate tools and equipment. Installation will require setting out, assembly, fitting, alignment and adjustment of the lift/escalator equipment
- Installing Lift Ropes (traction media) and adjust in accordance with approved procedures. The engineer will be required to install suspension, safety and governor ropes to new or reconstructed lift equipment
- Installation of Lift Doors and Frames in accordance with approved procedures.
- Checking Setting and Commissioning the Lift/escalator Installation in accordance with approved procedures. The checks to be carried out include the final checks and adjustments to the operation of lift/escalator installations prior to final test
- Carry out site surveys
- Keep the supervisor informed regarding the progress of work, hours spent and any non-compliance
- Stay in communication with the customer and the supervisor to ensure the satisfaction of the customer needs
- Employees are required to attend all relevant training sessions
- Employees are required to carry out all works in accordance with the Company’s Quality Corporate policy
- All employees are required to work in accordance with the Company’s Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current Irish legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements, as well as setting a personal example of safe behaviour
- Employees will be required to contribute to the Company safety objectives, where necessary by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to its safety management system
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Electrician with completed approved Apprenticeship in Lift and Escalator Industry
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator Installation or equivalent
- The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- The ability to work independently with a flexible approach
- Good communication skills at different levels (Client/Installation Managers/SAIS Inspectors)
- Manual dexterity - Requires the use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information.
- Basic product and Installation knowledge/experience
- Basic problem-solving skills Full Irish driving License
